As the Ascot rush draws to a close it’s time to start thinking and planning for those other special summer events including weddings as well as regional Ladies’ Days.

So I am delighted to be showing my latest collections at a series of fairs and events over the next few months. The first event I would like to spotlight is at pretty village of Whalton, located just outside Morpeth. Here I will be showing at The Tin Shed‘s Whalton Village Hall’s Art Fair on Sunday, June 23rd. At the fair, you will also find a gorgeous collection of artists and artisans all showing their latest work.

The Art Fair welcomes visitors from 10.30 to 4.00, entry is free, and there is also an on-site refreshment room serving gorgeous homemade bakes and cakes.

Introducing the Miss Crazy Daisy headpiece

One of the new designs I will be showing at Whalton Village Hall on Sunday 23rd June is “Miss Crazy Daisy”. I have a special interest in re-cycling, and enjoy creating millinery using the concept of make-do and mend. Miss Daisy is the result of experimentation and has been made from recycled water bottles.

Miss Daisy will also be featured at Etal on August 14th when I will be running a beginners’ workshop to learn how to make the components of the headpiece. So if you would like to reconnect your creative inner soul and learn more about this innovative recycling concept – please enrol to join our millinery taster workshop and learn the skills needed to create your very own Crazy Daisy brooch on Wednesday, August 14th at Etal Village Hall, from 11.30 to 1.30.

As we are still hoping for warm weather, Lesley, the creative genius behind The Tin Shed has put together a delightful collection of artists and artisans for the Whalton Village Hall event on Sunday 23rd, June, where summery images will be one of the themes! The event welcomes visitors from 10.30 to 4.00 and entry to the Art Fairs is free.

Brancepeth Castle July 2024

Next up is Brancepeth Castle Craft Fair – this is a new one for me!

The fair at Brancepeth Castle takes place over three days, in late July, with stands both outside in the delightful grounds, and inside the Castle itself.

I am looking forward to exploring the interior of the Castle too, which is also where my stand will be located. There will be over sixty assorted stalls and stands with an eclectic collection of artisan-made products – including my stand where I will have a selection of my current collection of couture hats and millinery accessories. Brancepeth Castle is also home to Cafe BurgShneider offering homemade German and English cakes and bakes, the cafe is located in the gatehouse, at the Castle.

Please click on the link to book your tickets for the summer Brancepeth Castle Craft Fair, the opening hours vary – on Friday & Saturday it’s 10-5 and on Sunday it’s 12 -5.

I am really looking forward to welcoming you to Etal Village Hall on August 14th, where I will be running an exciting recycling workshop. I will also have a capsule collection of couture millinery there for you to browse after the class.

At this event I’m running the Crazy Daisy Brooch Millinery Taster Workshop, this will help you reconnect to your creative inner soul and learn more about this innovative recycling concept. Please reserve your spot at the workshop on my website by using this link. (The workshop is not suitable for children under 13) Workshop spaces are limited to just 6 participants. If you would like further details or have any questions about the workshop please use the contact page on my website.

Whilst you’re in Etal why not visit to the Lavender Tea Rooms, located just opposite the Village Hall, the tearooms make a great place for a cup of tea or lunch after the workshop finishes.

Ayton Castle Art Fair 24-26 August 2024

The last of these summer events is another one hosted by The Tin Shed – this time it’s at the iconic Ayton Castle. I was lucky enough to be at the Ayton Castle event a couple of years ago, so it is a pleasure to be going back again, and this time for the three-day holiday weekend at the end of August, to show my latest collections of couture millinery and accessories.

Ayton Castle, a spectacular privately owned Victorian castle is rarely open to the public and also has a model railway in the grounds. Located just over the Scottish Border, close to Eyemouth, with easy access to the A1, and as it is easily accessible from either Newcastle or Edinburgh, a visit to Ayton Castle makes a lovely day trip,

The Tin Shed event at Ayton Castle is bring held on Saturday – Monday, 24-26 August, and will welcome visitors from 10.30 to 4.00.

I hope you have enjoyed reading this resume of the summer events that I am appearing and if any of them appeal, please come and say hello when you are visiting. The post includes links to each event for further details.
