Bridal
When you’re planning your big day there are so many decisions to make! No sooner have you resolved the date, and chosen the venue, than it’s time to think dress, bridal headpiece and veil, bridesmaids, cake, photographer, flowers and so on – gosh the list is endless! If you are anything like me, you may have turned to Pinterest to curate boards to help you style your very special day.
Mother of the Bride
A wedding in the family! Such excitement! it’s not only the bride who will want to look her best on the big day, the bride’s mum will be in the limelight too, along with the groom’s mother and the principal guests, who also feature in the wedding photos. They’ll all be gearing up and planning their outfits for the long-anticipated day!
Family Occasions
Fedora, boater, coolie, fascinator, halo, headband, panama, trilby, turban, vintage beret, not forgetting the millinery styles made famous by fashion icons such as Audrey Hepburn, Christian Dior, and Coco Chanel – all conjure up hats that we are familiar with, making such styles timeless classics. Depending on their shape, colour, texture, and trim, these millinery styles can be transformed into a hat or headpiece suitable for almost any family occasion – a christening, bar mitzvah, funeral, garden party, wedding or even an investiture showpiece.
Race Day & Cocktail
We all know that going to the races is a great day out, and whilst dressing for the occasion as well as the weather is important, many racecourses now have strict dress codes. So, when choosing your outfit remember to check the dress regulations for the racecourse and race meet you are attending.
If you are invited to a “dressy” party, cocktail reception or wedding, many of the headpiece styles that are suitable for Ladies Days at the Races will also be acceptable, especially if the dress code stipulates “Cocktail”.
